How to sell or get rid of my car?

I put my 94 Ford explorer up for sale in Craigslist for $1000 (in Santa Cruz) to sell it but haven't gotten an offer yet. I need to get rid of it ASAP because I only have parking space for 1 vehicle by permit and I already bought another car. This Ford has problems that would altogether maybe costs $1000 or less. What are some other ways to get rid of it? Should I send it to a junk yard?
