Metric or Imperial units? Which do you prefer? Which should be taught in our schools?

It's just my opinion, but I feel like metric is tons (no pun intended) easier. 100 cm. in meter, 1000 meters in kilometer, it just makes more sense. I'm American, but I hate our Imperial system, and the rest of the world has moved on to the metric too. Why not just make it official and join the rest of the world?
